Department of Journalism &Mass Communication (DJMC), Govt. College for Women, M. A. Road, Srinagar held an interaction session with Editor News, Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar, Mr. Shabir Ahmad at the college conference hall on 12th July 2019.

Journalism students visit Press Enclave, interact with RK staff

As part of the industrial visit series, students of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Govt. Women’s College M.A Road visited the office of daily ‘Rising Kashmir’ on June 24, 2019 to understand the functioning of newspapers.
The students of 3rd semester interacted with the editorial and management staff of the newspaper at its Press Enclave office. They were accompanied by Head of Department, Dr. Suhail Ahmad. NAAC inspection of GCW MA Road begins

The two-day inspection of Govt. College for Women, M. A. Road, Srinagar by a National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) peer team began on Tuesday (June 11, 2019).

Exhibition of hand-made products held at GCW M. A. Road

A one-day exhibition by Fatima Craft Centre ( Ahmad & Harris Khan Charitable Trust) was held at Govt. College for Women, M. A. Road Srinagar on April 27, 2019.
The event was organised by Women Studies Centre of the college.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Yasmeen Ashai appreciated the members of the craft centre and the products displayed at the exhibition. Prof. Madhosh delivers lecture at GCW M. A. Road

Department of Education, GCW M. A. Road Srinagar organised an extension lecture by renowned educationist, Prof. (Dr.) A. G. Madhosh on May 4, 2019.
Prof. Madhosh delivered the lecture on the topic ‘Values & Counselling’ which was attended by students of 5th semester and senior faculty of the college.
He stressed on the need for value education and counseling of students to cope with the contemporary challenges facing the society.

National Voters Day, SVEEP Action Plan event held at GCW M. A. Road

Department of Political Science, Govt. College for Women, M.A. Road Srinagar organised valedictory function of the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Action Plan 2019 on April 30, 2019.
The event was presided over by Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Yasmeen Ashai. In her address she talked about the importance of women emancipation and Women Reservation Bill. Prof. Ashai appreciated the students and the Department of Political Science for organizing such events.
