Students for better services at College canteen
Srinagar: Students of Women’s College, M.A Road, complain that the hygiene at the college’s canteen was very poor.
The students allege that mice could be seen roaming inside the canteen raising question mark over the safety of the food available in the canteen.
“We often go to the canteen. Last week we witnessed rats going around the premises,” said a group of students from arts department.

Women’s College library goes high tech
Srinagar: The automation of library in Government College for Women, M.A Road has started, 67 years after its establishment.
Officials said that the automation was need of the hour as it would reduce manual work and save time.
Librarian of the college, Umaira said that from now on all the data related to books will be accessible through computers.

Students demand proper dumping yard in Women’s College
Srinagar: Students are aghast over lack of a proper garbage dumping space at Women’s College, M.A Road, Srinagar.
There is no closed dumping yard in the college and the garbage is piled in open outside the zoology department.
The students face a lot of problems owing to the stink it creates and water logging on rainy days.

Students eagerly wait for maiden coffee shop in Women’s College
Srinagar: To provide students some space to socialise and relax, authorities in Women’s College, M.A Road, Srinagar have decided to open a coffee shop –Cafe- within the campus.
The initiative was taken by the home science department in 2016 to construct a single storey cafe near the administrative block of the college.
Estimated to cost Rs 32 lakh, officials said that the engineering department will take some more time to complete the construction.
